What is the meningitis C vaccine?
Article Abstract:
There is a new meningitis C vaccine which is suitable for children under two years old as well as others and offers lifetime protection. Administration of the vaccine began in the UK in the first week of November 1999, when teenagers were inoculated. Babies will receive the vaccine at the end of November 1999. From the beginning of the year 2000 children aged 1-5 will be inoculated, and after Easter 2000 those aged 5-14 will be inoculated.

The RCN is facing a funds crisis, particularly a 42 million pound sterling pension deficit, and its council has proposed to sell its London headquarters at 20 Cavendish Square, its home since 1922. The secrecy and lack of consultation surrounding the proposal has angered the members, and they have demanded that such a crucial decision be made in an open and democratic way.
