Zinc as an aid to healing
Article Abstract:
Zinc-paste bandages must still prove their effectiveness as treatments for leg ulcers. Zinc is used, as loss of skin and tissue results in loss of zinc in the body. Zinc may increase cell mitosis, reduce free radical activity, improve collagen cross-bonding, and prevent bacterial growth. However, more research into zinc-paste bandages is required.
