Ping Fu, Software developer and president and CEO of Raindrop Geomagic

The Raindrop Geomagic Company founded in 1996 by Ping Fu has developed computer programs that allow designer and engineers to digitally scan an object with optical beams and then use the scan to generate a precise three-dimensional model. Fu was named entrepreneur of the year by the editors of the magazine Inc. in the year 2005 for her work in Digital Shape Sampling and Processing (DSSP) technology, which was employed by clients like the NASA to evaluate the damaged tiles on the space shuttle Discovery while the craft was in orbit.
