Oakland Raiders free safety Rod Woodson, a football player, is considered to be one of the foremost defensive players in National Football League (NFL) history and has appeared in an astonishing 11 Pro Bowls, thus earning the NFL's defensive-player-of-the-year honors for 1983. However, the Raiders waived him after failing a preseason physical due to debilitating knee injury in the summer of 2004.
