Andrew Payne thought he was buying a simple fixer-upper but later discovered it was a house rich in history. Though it took a lot of time and patience to fix it up he made sure he retained the old-fashioned farm sink and the timber framing in each room, as he wanted to show respect for and celebrate its Yankee craftsmanship and ingenuity.
