The outcomes of variable pay systems: tales of multiple costs and unforeseen consequences

A study examining the limitations of two approaches relating to variable pay systems, is presented. The first approach associates superior financial performance and incentives scheme, and the second approach assesses success of the variable pay systems in brining about behavioural an attitudinal change.
