Balancing the organizational and institutional perspective in research on HRM change
Article Abstract:
Research into human resource management (HRM) has looked at the limitations on innovation and change in the area of HR policy, but has not gone into sufficient detail. It is now necessary to adopt a stronger organization-level perspective, looking at issues which prompt HRM change and outcomes of HR policies and systems. HRM theory and research must take into account both the institutional/social context and the organization-specific context.
