Article Abstract:
The debate between the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) pitting union density against democracy will not help in coming up with solutions to the ongoing decline of the labor movement. Density, democracy and transformation are needed since democracy is a stimulant to labor and with the current political moment of corporate globalization it is essential that a political transformation of the movement will take place.
