Implications of the EU Information and Consultation Directive and the Regulations in the UK - prospects for the future of employee representation
Article Abstract:
The European Union Directive on established employment relations agenda in the UK in April 2005 regarding informing and consulting employees on organizational issues. Globalization has heightened competition in product and labor markets, leading to a greater focus on the link between employee participation practices and business strategy and organizational performance. Commentary on the origins and rational of the legislation in the UK context are presented.
