George Clare in focus
Article Abstract:
George Clare spent years as an employee benefits consultant in the UK before becoming an executive for a company. As a consultant for three decades, he worked for Hobbs Savill and Bradford, William M. Mercer and European Actuarial Consultancy Services. He was hired to be a part-time international pensions adviser for Reckitt and Colman in 1997. Clare says meeting people face-to-face is important in his new position, which makes travelling a necessity for him. He also enjoys the small world of international consulting, which means that bumping into peers and rivals is common in his business.

David Callund in Focus
Article Abstract:
David Callund is known for being a crusader for international employee benefits. This started when he wrote the then six member states of theEuropean Community (EC) and prepared a report on the social security and pensions in the EC. He was later appointed as adviser to the Chilean Governmentand helped in writing the Pension Law Reform which came into effect in 1982. His various stints in other countries has widened his horizons regarding employee benefits. He currently manages his own consultancy firm, the Callund Consulting Limited.

It's tough these days down under

Australia is having a difficult time due to its economic recession. Banks are closing down, property exposure has caused large losses for banks, insurance companies are feared to have inadequate propert portfolios and employees face the lowest salary budgets ever. The Australian Labor Governement is fast losing support as privatization is fast gaining popularity. Superannuation regulations have increased, leading to the birth of many industry funds.
