Article Abstract:
Hong Kong's mandatory provident fund is a noble cause but flaws might yet derail the project and prevent it from achieving its goals of providing adequate and equitable retirement income. Flaws include little use of the program for soon to be retirees, great administrative burden on business that are mostly small, regular deduction practices and policing of companies in submitting deductibles.
