The Survey of Income and Program Participation is used to evaluate whether prime-age workers aged 25 to 54 get stuck in minimum wage jobs. Findings state that over a third are still minimum wage-job three years later, the probability of staying in a minimum wage job was greater in the early and mid-1990s than late 1990s and early 2000s, not all adults in this group have the opportunity to move into higher paying jobs and the chances of moving out of such jobs are greater for native born males with union jobs and those that change industry and/or occupation.
