Healthy workplaces
Article Abstract:
Ways in which a comfortable office environment can be established are described in relation to new UK health and safety at work legislation. The six new regulations and the areas within the office that they cover are tabulated. Self regulation v the proforma approach
Article Abstract:
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 required employers to submit a written policy statement and it was hoped that this would make employers commit themselves to resolving any health and safety problems. However, this self-regulation policy was viewed as a chore by employers and eventually the HSC issued a proforma for policy statements. Using proformas for safety regulations such as the COSHH Regulations would be of great benefit for both employers and authorities.
