Demonstrative evidence displays a broader appeal; falling prices and the ability to convey complex issues to juries give visual aids a higher profile
Article Abstract:
Trial lawyers are gaining a growing awareness of the importance of demonstrative evidence and the number of companies assisting in its' presentation is growing. The general rule is that the importance of visual evidence increases with the complexity of trial issues but such evidence has come to be used in all types of trials. The forum's specific characteristics will determine the type of demonstrative evidence used. Common misconceptions about visual evidence are listed and several companies specializing in assisting lawyers in demonstrative evidence presentation are described.

Creating trial exhibits can be key to creating strategies for the whole case. Trial lawyers must remember the big picture when creating a graphic presentation, and that specific points can become much clearer as graphic depictions, although every point conveyed to the jury is important. Design consultants must maintain integrity of fact since visuals depend upon admissibility, and expert witnesses' communication with design consultants should be as open as possible.
