Case management software does electronically the job of paper files, taking , organizing and storing information in an orderly fashion and finding the information quickly. The most important features to look for are a client and case tracker, a docketing system, a calendaring option and a conflicts checker. Some packages also allow transfering files from a portable pocket organizer such as a PalmPilot.

Article Abstract:
The author discusses one method of discriminatory criminal justice administration, disproportionately stopping minorities for traffic violations. A presidential directive of Aug 1999 requires federal law enforcement employees to refrain from racial profiling, and the ABA has supported federal legislation to stop this practice. The author describes other recent developments in the area.
