Jurors: a biased, independent lot; an NLJ-DecisionQuest poll finds potential jurors will ignore a judge and don't like Bib Business
Article Abstract:
Cynicism about the justice system as well as mistrust and animosity toward large corporations is typical of most potential jury members. More than 75% of the 1,012 people questioned in the first Juror Outlook Survey, a planned annual project of the National Law Journal and DecisionQuest, a nationwide trial consulting firm claimed that as jurors, they would follow what they believed was right regardless of a judge's instructions or what the law requires. Mistrust and animosity toward large corporations was also evident from the answers.
