The author discusses the extraterritorial application of U.S. and European antitrust law with a focus on the 1993 U.S. Supreme Court case Hartford Fire Insurance Co. v. California. The author concludes that international antitrust policy is concerned with the welfare of individual competing nations and should be concerned with global welfare.
