Scrambling for privacy; encrypted information on lawyer-client networks maintains confidentiality, foils unauthorized users
Article Abstract:
Private, Internet networks called extranets are a new way for law firms and their clients to share information, ensuring extra confidentiality by using encryption technology. Extranets have all the attendant advantages of using the Internet, including search engines, e-mail, discussion groups, and flexible access to anyone with a browser. Private networks requiring all participants to use the same software and conference calls have become outdated.
