The BBC's public service internet offering was officially launched in December, but according to Edward Briffa, controller of online and interactive, the company is keen to introduce material that is uniquely web in its nature and not tied to existing TV and radio titles. Under the BBC Online banner much interest has focused on the bbc.co service which contains News Online, World Service Online and Education.
