BBC restructures Pebble Mill center

BBC Production has announced a major restructuring of its network production department in Pebble Mill Road in Birmingham, AL, to eliminate redundancies. BBC Production already informed employees that it will going to reduce the number of programming units at the Pebble Mill Road office from nine to five in September 1998, a move that is expected to eliminate four senior editorial jobs. Under the plan, BBC Productions will merge its entertainment department with leisure and lifestyle while combining its music programming with features and topical factual programs.

C4 magazine debut features Pet Rescue

Channel 4 will launch the new magazine Pet Rescue, which is the channel's joint venture with recently-launched GMG Endemol Entertainment consumer arm Gem. Pet Rescue, Channel 4's maiden entry into the magazine market and delves on animal rescue events, will come out quarterly, with its first issue a Christmas special to be released on Nov. 12, 1998. Pet Rescue, costs 2.20 pounds and aims at families and children, likewise features tips to be of use to pet owners and its first issue to include mail order offers for Pet Rescue products and a Pet Rescue club.
