BBC unveils network radio code of practice
Article Abstract:
BBC Radio has launched a new provisional code of practice for the whole network aimed at reducing the cost of program commissioning. Under the provisions of the code, BBC will run three classes of commissioning: universal; all registered suppliers; and, selected registered suppliers. BBC executives will tell companies which class of producers can bid for a commission. Producers will then be given detailed information on editorial, audience and price requirements, while contracts will be given within 15 working days of the completion of budget and rights negotiations.
