BBC1's "East Enders" beat out its new competitor, ITV's "Coronation Street" in the ratings with 9.84 million tuning into "East Enders" and 8.55 million tuning into the latter. ITV ended up beating the BBC overall in primetime, however, with 33.7% of the market versus 28.4%.

Live sport and sporting docs pack the schedules
Article Abstract:
UK television programming is discussed for the week ending April 22, 2001. Most documentary programs in the schedule dealt with sports, and there was a lack of serious documentary programming overall. The top factual show was "Airline" on ITV with 7.64 million viewers.

Article Abstract:
The audience ratings of the July 7, 2005 disaster details broadcasts on different news channels are discussed. Relevant statistics are also presented. Many channels had to reschedule their programs and make time for broadcast of the disaster details.
