The Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) held at Virginia presented ethical issues in fisheries and was themed 'Bioethics in a Changing World'. The meeting discussed the following topics-conduct of science, specimen collection, data analysis and reporting, public dissemination of sensitive scientific information, and training the next generation about ethics.

Louisiana chapter: holds silver anniversary meeting
Article Abstract:
The silver jubilee meeting of the Louisiana Chapter took place on 5th and 6th February 2004 and the students with the best oral and poster presentations were rewarded. The details about students who rreceived the rewards and the awards for service provided by the office bearers to the Chapter are discussed.

Wrap-up: a Capitol meeting
Article Abstract:
The American Fisheries Society's 134th Annual Meeting held at Madison, Wisconsin from 22-26 August 2004 was the fourth largest meeting ever held in the North Central Division. The meeting featured 696 oral presentations, 106 poster presentations and also included 24 symposia sessions.
