C4I stuns rivals by cutting commission rate
Article Abstract:
Channel 4 International (C4I), the distribution arm of non-profit Channel 4, has announced the reduction of its standard 30% commission rate to 25% to gain more business from independent producers. C4I head Bernard MacLeod said the company aims to provide the industry with the best distribution service in terms of cost and efficiency. The rate cut is also intended to ensure the choice of C4I as distributor of all of C4 program producers. C4I rivals were surprised by the distributor's action, with one observing that some people in the industry will be motivated to rethink their commission structures.
