Telewest snaps up Walkers as president
Article Abstract:
Telewest, a cable operator based in UK, has appointed Tony Illsley, who was most recently the president of Walkers Snack Food, as its new chief executive officer. Illsley, who is scheduled to take up his new role effective autumn of 1998, will occupy the position vacated by Stephen Davidson, who left Telewest after reported conflicts with the company's board. Telewest is believed to have chosen Illsley, who has no background in television or telecom industry, because of his strong background in marketing.
