Discovery DV night shoot first
Article Abstract:
Discovery Channel used consumer DV cameras for the Discovery Channel Eco Challenge, which is being filmed in Morroco. Discovery is claiming to be the first-ever to use the camcorders for night-recording on a large TV production project, without the necessity of using expensive night-vision lenses. The six Sony DVC-TRV9 DV cameras were supplied by Video Systems, which made simple modifications to improve the 10-feet maximum limit of the camcorders to accomodate recording in darkness at distance of 30 feet.
