Aiming for the 'heart of Britain.'
Article Abstract:
ITV will launch a heart-shaped on-screen indent alongside its new channel logo to symbolize ITV as the channel nearest to the heart of the action, current affairs and Britain itself. The new design, which is intended to focus on ITV's program marketing and promotions rather than corporate identity, will be launched on-screen on Oct. 5, 1998, at 09.25. The heart, designed by English + Pockett, will be ITV's symbol, just as the glove is BBC's, the peacock is NBC's and the satellite dish is Sky's.
