Forgan seeks backers for new digital service
Article Abstract:
Channel Earth is a new digital service being proposed by a group led by Liz Forgan, formerly the managing director of BBC network radio. Forgan is looking for funding and distribution of the channel, which would delve in topics on the environment, natural history and outdoor activities. The consortium behind the channel will launch the service in 1999 and is also negotiating with SDN, a digital terrestrial TV operator for possible carriage. Channel Earth will broadcast news, current affairs, documentaries, magazine shows, drama and entertainment revolving around the environment.

New Carlton TV teen show to bridge kids/adult gap

Carlton TV has announced that it has been commissioned by Carlton Digital Channels' director of programming Anne Gray to develop Raw TV, a teen magazine show that will reach across the difference between its daytime kids' channel and its evening factual channel. The two-hour teen magazine show, which will have Nick Symons as executive producer and Kate Copstick as series producer, will be shown every weekday between Carlton Kids and Cartlon World. It will feature film, music, fashion and sport and will be hosted by Clare Goram and stand-up comedian Connor Maloney.
