Lawrence to lead MAI way
Article Abstract:
Plans to bring together the Anglia and Meridian production teams into a single unit are designed to consolidate the position of MAI as the third strong group in the ITV network, along with Granada TV and Carlton UK TV. The responsibility for forming the new unit will rest with Vernon Lawrence, ITV controller of drama and entertainment. It is thought that he will be given considerable freedom of manoeuvre, being permitted to attract programme-makers from competing broadcasters.
