Miller puts weight behind Softimage
Article Abstract:
Avid, which is acquiring Microsoft unit Softimage, has assured that the company is in full support of the company's present and future plans along with the development of its base in Montreal, Canada, as a core of excellence for product roll outs in the future. The assurance was relayed by Avid Chief Executive Bill Miller, who flew to London, UK, to provide explanations on the rationale behind Avid's acquisition of Softimage. Miller informed staff of both firms that the deal would provide mutual benefit, with the merger enabling both Avid and Softimage to work quickly in creating a suite of non-linear devices and a critical mass in graphics and effects.
