Article Abstract:
The 2007 Edinburgh Television Festival was the perfect venue to tackle controversies in the industry such as budget cuts and audience fraud, with a theme on the lack of leadership and vision in TV. The theme was reflected by the absence of BBC director-general Mark Thompson, BSkyB CEO James Murdoch and ITV executive chairman Michael Grade. The leadership practices of Thompson and Murdoch are evaluated.
