Article Abstract:
The UK Radio Authority has lost the trust of the industry after a series of allegations regarding improper licensing and misconduct of one of the main executives in November 1998. Reform of the licensing system is being sought by the industry, which believes the present system is open to corruption. The Radio Authority claim the allegations are part of a campaign to smear the regulatory body. The Commercial Radio Companies Association is seeking govenment backing for reforms.

24-hour World Service news attacked
Article Abstract:
The BBC's proposal to overhaul the news programmes provision to the BBC World Service is facing strong opposition. BBC's World Service News Programmes (WSNP) will produce 24 hours of continuous live news and information for the first time under the overhaul strategy.
