Broadcasting on the Web
Article Abstract:
Broadcasting stations should investigate copyright procedures and laws before including sound bites, music, or photographs on their web sites. While photos or bites from station employed talent is probably covered in a station's contract, other material will need permission from the owner of the copyright or trademark. Music played on the Web is not covered under a broadcaster's normal ASCAP or BMI license and also requires special online permission.

Non-commercial political underwriting
Article Abstract:
Paid political advertising can be broadcast on educational FM stations that meet Federal Communications Commission criteria. These include no announcements that contain a comparative message or a call to action. Federal candidates cannot be charged to access to such facilities, but stations can charge for production services.
