Promotions at Chrysalis as business blossoms

Chrysalis Radio has upgraded the ranks of its three core staff, Kevin Palmer, Ande MacPherson and Miriam Nevill, to director level. Palmer, who joined Heart 106.2 in London, UK, as head of production in 1995, was promoted to become program director of Heart 106.2 while MacPherson, who was most recently program controller for Galaxy 105 in Leeds, UK, is now the program director of the said station. Miriam Nevill, who was formerly marketing controller, became group marketing director of the Heart band. Chrysalis Radio CEO Richard Huntingford noted the promotions mirror the significant growth that the company achieved and recognize the contributions made by the three employees in making its business successful.

Digital One plans for new stations
Article Abstract:
The Digital One consortium is set to broadcast 10 digital commercial radio services on Oct. 1, 1999, after it was awarded the 12-year license by the Radio Authority. The consortium is 57-percent-owned by GWR Group, while NTL holds 33% and Talk Radio has 10%. Digital One, which is also set to test related text data for programs and advertising, is also searching providers for the stations on new dance music, soft adult contemporary music as well as on plays, books and comedy. The group is slated to pay license fee of 10,000 pounds sterling annually and inject approximately 9 million pounds sterling during the 12-year period.
