Technophobias
Article Abstract:
Technological advances in post-production has made the broadcast facilities industry in the UK a highly competitive market. Most industry observers suggest that facilities and production companies must unite to remain competitive. Some observers point out that company mergers will result in the loss of highly creative individual producers yet others suggest that they will survive in a niche market. Many of those involved with the industry fear that facility companies revenues will be reduced as post-production technology becomes more accessible.

Joined forces
Article Abstract:
Television producers and facility companies are joining together to protest against Independent Television and the British Broadcasting Corporation who are forcing producers to use internal facilities when producing programs. The independent producers wish to choose their own facilities rather than be constrained by the television companies who endeavour to keep program production in-house. The producers' representatives and the International Teleproduction Society are investigating these complaints.
