Television and imagination: an investigation of the medium's influence on children's story-making
Article Abstract:
The effect of television on stories written by British 10-12-year-olds is examined. While a few children cited the influence of television or videos on their stories, most children did not. This would seem to indicated that television does not inspire the imagination. Other studies indicate television may stifle imagination by keeping the mind occupied.
