Article Abstract:
Mark Thompson, currently BBC TV head of factual programmes, has been named the new BBC2 controller. He believes that although the drama on BBC 2 has been good, it has not always had the right impact. He feels that there is a need to continued experimenting with entertainment and his vision is about originality. BBC2 controller since 1993 Michael Jackson, increased its share to 11.2% from 10.3%, making him a hard act to follow.
