The long road to Cranford
Article Abstract:
It took producer Sue Birtwistle seven years to create "Cranford", a television adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's 19th century novels "Cranford", "My Lady Ludlow" and "Mr. Harrison's Confessions" for BBC1. The program, which was written by screenwriter Heidi Thomas, had several production problems which caused the delay. The making of the program is discussed.

Comedian/writer Sharon Horgan started creating the script for sitcom "Angelo's" in 2003, with BBC's "Paddington Green" as its unlikely inspiration. Horgan worked with her favorite comedy performers turned actors in creating t he mock docu-soap's characters who work in T rafalgar Square. Other aspects of the making of "Angelo's" are discussed.
