The race to conquer Europe
Article Abstract:
The battle to become the dominant satellite television services provider in Europe is seeing many alliances forming and just as many breaking up. The cost of setting up digital satellite television services is so high it will need to spread between partners. However, companies such as BSkyB of the UK, Canal+ of France, Bertelsmann and the Kirch Group of Germany along with Nethold of the Netherlands have found it very difficult to find the right partner.

He is involved in co-ordinating the development of satellite stations throughout the world, using the experience gained launching and running BSkyB. Evans is concentrating on Latin America as News Corp plans to launch its digital service, competing against Galaxy Latin America.
