Time brokerage agreements
Article Abstract:
Broadcasters whose time is being brokered by another station should ensure that they still maintain control over their programming, finances and personnel decisions. Moreover, they should also reevaluate their Time Brokerage Agreement to determine if it specifically provides that control of the station shall reside in the licensee. Failure to retain control may be construed as a violation of the Communications Act's provisions on unauthorized transfer of control.

Chief operators
Article Abstract:
The FCC has required both radio and television stations to designate a chief operator, whose tasks include inspecting, maintaining and calibrating the station's transmission system. These operators are not required to have an FCC license and may serve the stations on a contractual basis. However, operators of stations operating on more than 10Kw power and using a directional antenna must be a full-time employee.

Main studio and LMAs
Article Abstract:
The Local Marketing Agreement allows two broadcasting stations in the same market shared management of the main studio. Any of the two parties can move its facilities to the other station provided the studio is within the moving party's community of license. The agreement allows the stations to share managers, sales people and other staff people as long as these employees work for the licensee.
