Easing NATO's expanding role goes to the top of Riga summit's agenda
Article Abstract:
NATO is heading for an analytical summit in Riga, Latvia in November 2006, as the alliance is moving away from being a euro-centric security organization to one that increasingly functions as the core of essentially global coalitions, reflecting the increasing range of operational tasks and demands faced by the alliance. The issue of energy security and the role of NATO in solving the issue are also likely to be discussed in the Riga summit.
