Environment and diesel engines: Lower emissions with exhaust gas recirculation
Article Abstract:
The peak temperature of combustion and also the emissions of nitrogen oxides can be reduced by fixing cooled exhaust to the intake air of diesel engines. Two modified MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH diesel engines are used to illustrate how this exhaust gas recirculation technology (EGR) can be used in the off-high sector for NOx reduction and as an economically sound means of meeting future emissions targets.
