Flexible antenna programme
Article Abstract:
Rohde & Schwarz has come up with steerable antenna systems AC090, AC120, AC180 and AC300 for optimum monitoring of terrestrial emissions and signals in the 1- to 40-gigahertz frequency range coming from geostationary satellites. The systems come with parabolic reflectors of four different diameters from 0.9 to three meters with respective matching and gain rotators. Broadband feeds handle frequency ranges from 1 to 18 gigahertz for linear and circular polarization. Two add-on antennas handle frequency ranges 18 to 26.5 gigahertz and 26.5 to 40 gigahertz. Rotator control, selection of antenna and polarisation can be controlled via a computer running Windows NT.

Movng fast on earth
Article Abstract:
Land-mobility platforms are required to have the greatest levels of agility and speed due to the unpredictable nature of the military's special operations. Militaries have a choice between jeep-style vehicles, such as HMMWV, or buggy-style vehicles such as Light Strike Vehicles (LSVs), whose sales continue to be very classified even in the US. Different land vehicles offer various features such as light-weapon compatibility, high-power V8 engines and excellent payload capabilities that will satisfy the speed, reliability and high-mobility requirements of special operations.
