Article Abstract:
US intelligence services continue to hunt terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, who is a key player in the terrorist group Hizbullah's war against the West and Israel. Mughnayeh has been implicated in the Apr 18, 1983, bombing of the US Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, the Oct 23, 1983, twin suicide bombings of a US Marine Corp barracks near Beirut Airport and a French paratrooper base nearby. As far as is known, he has not been seen in public since 1994.

Patriarch calls for Syrian troops to leave
Article Abstract:
The Maronite Catholics of Lebanon, headed by Cardinal Nasrallah Sfeir, continue to call for the withdrawal of Syrian troops from the country, while Lebanon's Muslims oppose a withdrawal. Demonstrations have been banned for fear that they may escalate the conflict.

Lebanese factions begin to challenge Syrian domination
Article Abstract:
Syria has maintained troops in Lebanon, as well as political control of the country, since the end of Lebanon's civil war in 1990. There are those in Lebanon who would like Syria to withdraw, but there is no indication it will.
