The Italian Navy's air command, with the entry of EH-101maritime patrol helicopters (as a replacement for the venerable SH-3D Sea King) into service, has begun a programme of asset renewal and capability enhancement. The recapitalization programme that would stretch over a decade, if fully funded, will yield a far more flexible and capable organic aviation capability.
