'Lexington' comes to the rescue
Article Abstract:
Ships of the US Navy have often been deployed in rescue and relief efforts, including the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima that became the focal point of recovery efforts during Hurricane Katrina. Similarly, when drought curtailed hydroelectric power supplies in Washington in 1929, the USS 'Lexington's' generators supplied about a quarter of the city of Tacorna's electricity needs.

Strategic systems marks 50 years as Soviet nuclear deterrent
Article Abstract:
The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) was the creation of the Special Projects Office (SP) to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States. The US has increased its atomic weapons stockpile and ability to deliver warheads to prevent any offensive use of Soviet nuclear weaponry.
