Mexican Navy chooses Oto Melara 12.7m for Acurio and Polaris class craft
Article Abstract:
The Italian machine gun mount Oto Melara 12.7 was chosen by the Mexican Navy to arm its initial batch of its Acurio and Polaris crafts after extensive trials since October 2003. Both, the Acurio as well as the Polaris crafts are based on Swedish designs and the Oto Melara will be placed on top of the boat super structure due to which it will get a wide arc of fire.

Italian surveillance vessel features innovative propulsion

The Italian surveillance vehicle, Elettra comes fitted with multi-electronic permanent magnet (MEP) drives developed by ABB Industrial SpA and is made up of two components, a synchronous motor section with permanent magnets and a converter section. The innovative propulsion technology ensures high efficiency despite low weight and volume.
