Old Corps, new Corps: The retention leadership paradigm
Article Abstract:
A Marine trained in the "old Corps" tradition provides tips to decrease the trend of good and useful "new Corps" leaving the organization. It is suggested that leaders such as noncommissioned officers (NCOs), staff NCOs (SNCOs) and officers can positively impact retention of junior Marines by proper enforcement of monthly written counseling, progressive corrective actions, elimination of unreasonable group punishments, and improved communications up and down the chain of command.
