Police reform in Afghanistan
Article Abstract:
Corruption, low pay, poor disciple and lack of resources have all led to a drastic lack of confidence among the Afghan population in the police. German led police reform efforts have focused on creating a new comprehensive organizational structure from the ministry down to the districts, the framework for pay and rank reform, a multinational mentoring system, international coordination among donors and regional training centers but the pace of these reforms has been slow.
