MSgt Charles H. Owens, commander of the Company H, 3d Battalion, 7th Marines (H/3/7), describes the situation during the last month of the Korean War, July 1953 and the help provided by the 2d Royal Australian Regiment (2d RAR) to his platoon in fighting the enemy troops.

The concept of the separation of units, which is the planned tactical disposition of widely separated units on the field of battle, is reviewed. This tactic may be employed to reduce the vulnerability of ground formations to weapons of mass destruction.
